Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
I just recently got cast as Cosette in Les Miserables at my resident theater company! It is such an honor to be a part of a great musical, but to be a principal character? Stop that right now, it's much too silly! Not only will I be one of the central characters, but my close friends who are fellow musical theater dorks will also be performing alongside me! I cannot believe that I'm so lucky! I'll make sure to post pictures (and videos?) of performances once they are available.
In other dramatic news, the non-musical play that I'm in, Smash by Jeffrey Hatcher, is going quite well! Who knew that I would get to live out my dream of being a crotchety headmistress of a private college for girls? I smell a sitcom!
Everyone knows it's my dream to go to New York and become an actress, and now it seems I'm one step closer to that future! Bah! Don't look at me while I cry, it's too embarrassing!
But wait! There's more! Just a few days ago, I got my driver's license! FREEEEEEDOM! Let's just hope I don't get distracted by something shiny and drive off the road. Cause I totally would.
Anyway, that's about all that's going on in my life right now. I'll update again soon, my darlings!
All my love!
XOXO

Giggity Giggity...
Whoa, man... S'been forever...
I thought I'd let y'all know that I am currently exhausted due to 5 fuckin' million plays that I'm in. I've literally got coffee flowing through my veins. Such a nice feeling...
I vowed that I would keep you updated, so...here you go!
Over at my local Performing Arts Center, I'm in Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical as an ensemble member! This is my first paying gig, so I'm tres, tres excited! Like the title of the show suggests, it's a very dark show, just in time for Halloween! Murder, mayhem, prossssstitutes... Bottom line: If you haven't seen this show, do so. And not the one online that has David Hasselhoff in
News Team! Assemble!
Well, Les Miserables is over and done with. I have never missed my cast mates more, even though I see about half of them at school.
As most of you know, being cast as Cosette was sort of like my breakout role. Not once before have I been a lead character in a musical. It was a lovely experience that I will carry with me forever. Plus, my cast mates were sexy as hell. Didn't expect me to be serious for long, didja? HAH! Never.
So, as promised, here is a link to a video of me as Cosette singing 'In My Life/A Heart Full of Love' from one of the performances, along with the characters (and their real names in parentheses) of Jean Valjean, (Jake
Oh, hello. You come here often?
I haven't written a journal entry in so long it's amazing! Pfft, and I call myself a writer!
Speaking of, I've come up with several new book ideas, but the one I'm most likely going to stick to is the Sci-Fi one, considering I've been working on it the longest.
Unfortunately I haven't been writing as much as I should. I'm just so busy with school and drama and whatnot. I have about seventeen hours of theater class a week, so it's hard to concentrate on anything but drama.
I've recently been cast in a British comedy called Smash by Jeffrey Hatcher, based off of George Bernard Shaw's novel The Unsocial Socialist, as Miss Wilson, the hea
Imma be famous, mommy!
So, guess what I'm doing in the next few days?
I'm performing 'Seasons of Love' from Rent at The 6th Street Playhouse, one of the resident theater companies where I live. The Gala is entitled "Music with the Stars". I will be singing alongside Stephanie St. James, famous for playing Squeak in Oprah Winfrey's 'The Color Purple' on Broadway, who is also playing Mimi in 6th Street's upcoming adult production of Rent, and other very accomplished singers. :faint:
I, on the other hand, will be performing in the teen version of Rent at the 6th Street Playhouse in July, as Mrs. Cohen, Mark's stereotypical Jewish mother.
Oh, baby...
Are you ready
